The Experiential Learning Project was initiated to address the challenges and needs identified in the use and impact of experiential learning at the local level. While this approach is well-integrated into some national and international educational activities, its implementation locally has been limited, particularly among small-scale NGOs and schools.
Project Objectives:
Enhance the skills of local trainers in experiential learning methods through capacity building activities.
Project Activities:
1.Training Programs: Conducted one-on-one training with 30 youth workers and teachers across different cities in Turkey, incorporating David Kolb’s experiential learning theory and Paulo Freire’s Pedagogy of the Oppressed.
2.Study Visits: Organized study visits for 15 youth workers to Greece and 15 formal education teachers to Estonia.
3.Practical Application: Facilitated dialogue meetings and trainings in participants’ home cities to apply and practice their new skills, reaching approximately 420 children and young people.
Key Outputs:
Guidebook: “Experiential Pedagogy of the Oppressed” offers a methodological guide to differentiate educational practices in both civil and formal education settings.
This project, a collaboration between Gaziantep Training and Youth Association, Eskişehir Youth Rights Association, Ergon Training NGO, and Rouge Youth Club, aims to foster individual and social development through enhanced experiential learning at the local level.
